NIN Web Desk : (Dr subhrojyoti chattopadhyay); While different State Drug Control has submitted reports of different Medicines, State Drug Control West Bengal has submitted a list of 27 Medicines. These have failed in their Quality test not only that even in this entire list of 103 Medicines there has been presence of Fungus, in few Bacteria. The most shocking one is few Medicines has no Active Molecule(s) in it rather only Dust. These reports has created a huge tension in Common People, what will they do now?
Another report came where the Anti-rabies Vaccine of a Pharma Company has failed in Quality Test. The Vaccines have spread in different areas like Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow etc and the Vaccine hasn’t been stored at it’s required Temperature. A particular Vaccine or in few cases some Medicines are stored in Cold, Dry Place if this is not maintained then it might hamper that particular Vaccine/Medicine. If this Vaccine is taken by any patient then that person might think he/she is out of danger but instead the Rabies Virus will stay and over time will show it’s action.
As per sources only particular Batch number has failed in Quality Test. Questions are arising who will take the responsibility now? Will proper steps be taken in this regard? Has this be done intentionally or just to make money by the Distributor(s)? Common people lives are at stake, how will the Common people understand whoch one is fake which one is not? On 22nd January 2025, The Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) has identified a falsified ABHAYRAB Rabies vaccine, circulating in the market through unauthorised sources. This falsified product poses a significant threat to public health due to the potential for lack of efficacy, harmful components, and the risk of treatment failure in preventing rabies, a fatal disease.
