NIN Web Desk: (Dr subhrojyoti chattopadhyay); Even after the stipulated time, a complete list of eligible candidates was not published, leading to a chaotic situation in front of the SSC building on Monday. A delegation of 13 unemployed candidates went to the SSC office for a meeting. At that time, sources informed that the commission had said that those who were there from the first to the third counselling were valid. And, the rest from the fourth counselling were invalid. After that, the gathering became chaotic. And in this context, Mamata Banerjee said from a meeting in Medinipur on Tuesday, ‘You don’t have to worry about the eligible and the ineligible. We should think about jobs and salaries.’
The Chief Minister said, “You have to remember that wherever you are working, go back to your workplace. Those who are inciting you will not give you money, but the government will give you wages. I have spoken to you on the phone at least 10 times since yesterday evening. If I were in Kolkata, I could have settled it in a second. But since I am in Midnapore, I can see that even after talking till midnight, some are being adamant. The tented-untented list has to be brought out. What does it matter to you! Why are you following others’ words! You don’t need to see who is eligible, who is ineligible. The state government and the court are there to see that. We will take evidence, we will see what is said in the court. You don’t need the list. You work, you need to see whether you have a job. You need to see whether you are getting paid properly. You don’t need to see the rest. Leave that to us.”
The jobless people expressed their anger. A jobless teacher said, “The Supreme Court said that we lost our jobs because there was a planned fraud. Who committed this fraud? Those who are doing the job certainly did not do it. We got the job with difficulty, we got money in exchange for teaching in school. Salary is not everything in this case but now this is being said because there has been an enormous corruption in counselling. Corruption cannot be covered up like this we are not sitting for the salary. We are sitting for our very own self respect.”
If the Government can’t differentiate between the eligible and ineligible then the Government is fully responsible for this. Isn’t it like this that the Government doesn’t want to show the list of Eligible and Ineligible because if the list is out then the Ineligible might tell the names who took the bribe. It’s totally a worse situation today, if the Ineligible person who have checked the papers and those students got admission in different Prestigious Colleges what will happen? What Job will they do in future? It will be just like giving a Joker/Clown to run the Administration/Kingdom!
