India-Pakistan Tension Live Updates : India Targets Terrorist Infrastructure in Pakistan

NIN Web Desk (New Delhi); Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated sharply following India’s precision strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). The action comes in response to the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, where 26 civilians were brutally killed by Pakistan-based terrorists.

► Indian Armed Forces Launch ‘Operation Sindoor’:

In a pre-dawn operation named Operation Sindoor, the Indian Armed Forces conducted precision strikes on nine terrorist targets located in Pakistan and PoK. These sites were reportedly being used to plan and direct cross-border terror attacks.

► India’s Official Statement:

India has said the operation was “focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature.” No Pakistani military installations were targeted, and only terror infrastructure was destroyed. The Indian government emphasized that the objective was to eliminate imminent threats while avoiding unnecessary escalation.

► Pakistani Military Confirms Strike Locations:

Pakistan’s Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary, confirmed that Indian strikes hit areas in Kotli, Muridke, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffarabad. Notably, Muridke is known as the headquarters of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Bahawalpur is a base for Jaish-e-Mohammad, led by Masood Azhar.

► Indian Army Posts on X:

Moments after the announcement, the Indian Army posted on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “Justice is served. Jai Hind.”

► Strategic Meetings Held Before Strikes:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had held a series of high-level meetings over the past week with top military and security officials. On Monday, hours before the strikes, he met with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh. He also held separate meetings with the Chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force in the days following the Pahalgam attack.

► Security Drills Across India Post-Strike:

Hours after the strikes, a nationwide civil defence drill was conducted to ensure preparedness in the event of any retaliatory action or hostile threat.

► India’s Strong Message:

This is the most significant Indian military response to a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir since the 2019 Pulwama attack. Prime Minister Modi had vowed to take decisive action, and Operation Sindoor appears to be the fulfillment of that promise.

► International Response Awaited:

As of now, there has been no official international reaction, but diplomatic channels are active. India has maintained that it acted within its rights of self-defence.
