NIN News Desk : SSKM still has ample amount of Ringer’s Lactate saline manufactured by West Bengal Pharmaceutical Company. Meanwhile, the new company’s saline has arrived at the hospital.
Hospital staff say that until now only Ringer’s Lactate manufactured by West Bengal Pharmaceutical Company was usedHow was the banned saline used in different Super Specialty Hospital? Questions are being raised about the role of SSKM authorities. Not only that we also now Gangasagar Mela an event at Gangasagar where lot of people visits at Makar Sankranti. Even there also ample amount of Ringer’s lactate Solutions are found. According to the sources On 10th December 2024, the Directorate of Drug Control asked to stop production of Ringer’s Lactate.
Not only that, on 7th January 2025, the Government of West Bengal had ordered to stop the use in medical colleges and hospitals, but how is it still used? The questions should be asked to the Store Managers, those who are In-charge of the Medicine Store and other Authorities that even after getting the Notice still they gave the Ringer’s Lactate Solution? Is it the duty of Doctors also to see which medicine/solution has expired?
It’s not possible for a Doctor to see all these because there are a lot of burdens/pressure in attending patients, seeing their reports etc. Why are the Doctors always targeted is it because they are soft spoken? The Authorities responsible should answer even after blacklisted and getting banned why the Solutions are kept at different Hospitals and arrived at Gangasagar Mela.
