NIN Web Desk : (Dr subhrojyoti chattopadhyay); A grenade attack took place at a temple in Khandwala, Amritsar, Punjab last Saturday. CCTV footage showed two motorbike riders one of them threw a grenade. After throwing the grenade, both of them fled on the bike. The police was looking for them based on the CCTV footage. On Monday morning, police forces went to Rajasansi area of Amritsar to find them and arrest them. On seeing the police personnel, they fired at them, the police fired back to stop them. One accused was shot dead, later he died. The other accused escaped from the hands of the police. His search is still on and will be found out soon.
According to police sources, the accused have been named Gursidak and Vishal. Police went to arrest the accused in Rajasansi area of Amritsar on Monday morning. Seeing them, they tried to run away on the bike. When they tried to stop them, they opened fire on the police. It is reported that head constable Gurpreet Singh was injured in the firing of the accused.
Inspector Amolak Singh’s turban was also shot. Gursidak was shot in the leg while running away from the bike. He later died in hospital. The theory of Pak Yoga also came up after the grenade attack on the temple. Whether there is any Pak connection with the accused is also being investigated.
