News Desk, Kolkata : In the realm of the Bachchan family, whether it’s amidst harmonious bonds or resonant echoes of controversies, life unfolds its chapters. Even in the aftermath of Abhishek-Aishwarya’s divorce, whispers of the ever-rolling gossip mill persist. Amidst this, Abhishek Bachchan has embraced another spring in life, marking his birthday with joyous echoes that resonate beyond the family.
Late on Sunday night, at the stroke of midnight, social media erupted with heartfelt wishes for Junior B. Yet, the most endearing greeting came from the patriarch himself, Amitabh Bachchan. In a birthday message, Big B declared Abhishek as his ‘eternal love’ and bestowed upon him the cherished title of ‘brother.’
Sharing an old collage video from the fan club, Amitabh expressed, ‘Brother, you are the best… The versatility within you is boundless, the effort to strive towards any work is never wasted… Never, ever! My eternal love…’
Even Simi Garewal, in her show, had showered praises on Abhishek. A snippet from that episode found its place in the collage video, where Simi commended, ‘Whenever I see your son perform, I am filled with enthusiasm. And that’s not today. I used to record his videos even when he was a child performing on stage. I would come home and watch them. I and Jaya would get emotional watching those.’
The video also featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, sharing insights into their journey from being close friends to life partners. Alongside, Shah Rukh Khan and the late Rishi Kapoor hailed Abhishek’s acting prowess.
While the stardom hasn’t quite matched up to the heights of his father, Abhishek Bachchan has spent nearly 23 years in the industry carving his own path. Despite the comparisons, he has established a unique identity and garnered admiration for his performances in movies like ‘Yuva,’ ‘Guru,’ ‘Ravan,’ and ‘Paa.’
The initial days of his career saw him sharing the screen with his father in several movies, portraying the dynamics of a real-life father-son duo. Despite not making appearances together recently, the duo has been actively involved in each other’s work, ensuring a continued bond both on and off-screen.
Abhishek’s career kick-started with films like Karan Johar’s ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ and Yash Raj Films’ ‘Bunty Aur Babli,’ leading to a series of collaborations with directors like Ram Gopal Varma in ‘Sarkar’ and ‘Sarkar Raj.’ While his last release may not have set the box office on fire, Abhishek continues to shine brightly in his own right.
Despite the long-awaited on-screen reunion, the father-son duo remains committed to their professional camaraderie. Abhishek, in an interview a few months ago, stated, ‘We both love working together. We thoroughly enjoy it. We are very involved in our work together. But as actors, we also have a responsibility towards our audience. Since we have already worked in some memorable films, we want to maintain that legacy.’
Beyond the silver screen, Abhishek has also ventured into the digital world, making a special appearance on the show ‘Ghoomar.’ The small screen witnessed the presence of Big B, adding a special touch to the celebration.
Even after 14 years, the father-son duo hasn’t graced the screen together. The reason for this prolonged wait, as per Abhishek, lies in their commitment to maintaining the essence of their on-screen collaborations. As he remarked in a PTI interview, ‘We both love working together. We thoroughly enjoy it. We are very involved in our work together. But as actors, we also have a responsibility towards our audience. Since we have already worked in some memorable films, we want to maintain that legacy.’
In essence, Abhishek Bachchan continues to carve his niche, scripting his own story in the vast canvas of Bollywood. With each performance, he adds layers to his artistic journey, and while the comparisons with his iconic father persist, he stands tall in his own right, a testament to his enduring talent and dedication.
