Cattles smugglers attack BSF jawans on India Bangladesh border of West Bengal!

NIN News Desk : Due to Cattles smugglers attack, BSF jawans retaliated in self-defense and foiled smuggling attempt, 10 bulls and sharp weapons recovered.

This incident took place on January 9, 2025, at Border Outpost Khutadah Border Outpost where BSF jawans violated international borders and drove back armed Bangladeshi smugglers who were trying to smuggle cattles. Despite aggressive retaliation by the smugglers, the jawans displayed extraordinary bravery and rescued 10 Haryana-origin bulls from the clutches of the smugglers.

On 09/01/2025, during the second night shift duty at border outpost Khutadah, the jawans saw 3 to 4 smugglers from the Indian side moving towards the fencing with some animals and an equal number of smugglers from Bangladesh side who had crossed the international border and entered India. The jawan on duty challenged them to stop but the smugglers did not pay any heed and some smugglers aggressively moved towards the jawan brandishing sharp-edged spears in their hands while the rest of the smugglers tried to cut the fencing. Seeing the situation going out of control, the jawan fired a blank round towards the smugglers.

District North 24 Parganas / Malda; 10 January 2025BSF South Bengal Frontier jawans foiled the attack of Bangladeshi cattles smugglers on India Bangladesh border of District North 24 Parganas and Malda of West Bengal by taking retaliatory action in self-defense and foiled the smuggling attempt.

On hearing the firing sound, the smugglers took advantage of the grass and mud and dense darkness and fled towards India and Bangladesh taking the help of uneven ground. After this, the surrounding area on both sides of the fence was searched. During this, 08 bulls of Haryana origin and 3 sharp-edged spears were recovered.This is not an isolated incident of attack. Apart from this, such attacks have been made on the jawans by cattle smugglers and illegal intruders at the Border Outpost Pipli of the Sector Headquarters Kolkata of BSF South Bengal Frontier and at the Border Outposts HC Pur and Nawada of the Sector Headquarters Malda in Malda district, where the jawans fired stun grenades, PAGs and other weapons on the cattle smugglers and illegal intruders in self-defense and foiled the incidents of smuggling and illegal intrusion.

A primary report has also been registered in the concerned police station regarding the firing done in attack and defense and all the cattle will be handed over to the Dhyan Foundation after e-tagging.The spokesperson of BSF South Bengal Frontier said that such incidents are not uncommon on our path of duty. BSF jawans are performing their duties with extraordinary courage and vigilance. Despite frequent flag meetings with BGB to alert them about frequent attacks and illegal intrusion by Bangladeshi criminals, no concrete action has been taken by them.

This inaction strengthens the morale of smugglers and criminals. Nevertheless, our jawans are fully capable of protecting our borders and ensuring the security of our nation under all circumstances.
