News Desk, Kolkata :  Over the past few days, there has been a buzz in the political arena, and today, on Monday, Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee shared the stage with Trinamool MP Deepak Adhikari, also known as Dev, at a rally in Ghatlai. Speculations arise whether Dev will contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Amidst these speculations, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had also met with Dev at Arambagh on Sunday. During the rally, Mamata emphasized the Ghatlai master plan, making significant announcements regarding the development of the region.

Recently, even in the parliament, Dev spoke about the Ghatlai master plan, asserting that despite repeated appeals to the central government during his ten-year tenure as an MP, the practical implementation of the Ghatlai master plan has not materialized. Taking the stage, Dev stated, “I have fought alongside the central government for ten years. This time, I am placing my trust in someone, my leader. I believe Mamata Banerjee can bring the Ghatlai master plan into reality.”

“Mamata Banerjee has discussed the Ghatlai master plan with me. I have already initiated discussions with the Chief Secretary. The Ghatlai master plan is underway. Despite the central government not issuing clearances, we are proceeding with the projects,” Dev mentioned during the rally. Mamata, highlighting the impact, stated that 17 lakh people would benefit, and an estimated budget of 12,500 crores would be required for the Ghatlai master plan.

Moving forward, Mamata brought up Dev’s role, expressing confidence in his capabilities. She stated, “Dev has assured me. Didi (Mamata) cannot bring back my brother (Abhishek). So, instead of relying on the center, I am directing the formation of a plan to be executed within 3-4 years.” She directed Chief Secretary B.P. Gopalika and Water Resources Secretary Prabhat Mishra to prepare this strategy.

Referring to Dev, Mamata said, “Dev is my ‘Abar Khabo’ (I will eat again) card. I have entrusted my politics in the hands of Mamata Banerjee. I have returned for the people of Ghatlai.” Dev, on the stage, proclaimed, “My political journey began under Mamata Banerjee’s guidance. I have returned for the people of Ghatlai.”

This recent development showcases a dynamic synergy between Dev and Mamata, emphasizing their commitment to Ghatlai’s development. The Ghatlai master plan takes center stage as Mamata Banerjee asserts her determination to implement it, despite challenges from the central government.

As the political landscape unfolds, Mamata’s strategic approach, entrusting Dev with a pivotal role, adds an intriguing layer to the narrative. Dev, in turn, positions himself as Mamata’s trusted lieutenant, ready to carry forward the vision for Ghatlai’s prosperity.

The Ghatlai master plan, a key focal point, holds promises of transformative changes, with Mamata Banerjee’s leadership and Dev’s active involvement. The rally serves as a platform for Mamata to showcase her determination and for Dev to reconnect with the people, emphasizing his role as Mamata’s chosen champion.

In the backdrop of political dynamics, Mamata’s directive to formulate a local plan underscores her pragmatic approach, recognizing the need for self-reliance in the face of central government challenges.
