Bitan was supposed to return to Kolkata with his family on Thursday, April 24. But a tragic incident happened before he could return. Bitan was tragically shot dead by terrorists on Tuesday.

The West Bengal government stands by the bereaved family. State Minister Arup Biswas visited the family’s house on Tuesday night on the instructions of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Arrangements have been made to bring Bitan’s wife and child back to Kolkata under the supervision of the Chief Minister.

According to the latest reports, at least 26 people were killed in the Pahelgaon terror attack on Tuesday, and it is feared that the death toll may rise further. After the news of Bitan’s death reached them on Tuesday evening, a shadow of grief fell on the Adhikari family. Family members said that they had spoken to Bitan, his wife Sohini and the child that very afternoon. Everything was normal, they were happy. But in the evening, the news of death came suddenly – Bitan was shot dead by terrorists.
* The Chief Minister, shocked by the incident, is personally monitoring the situation
Minister Arup Biswas met the family on Tuesday night. He said that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is personally monitoring the incident. Meanwhile, a delegation from the state government has reached Jammu and Kashmir. All measures are being taken to quickly bring Bitan’s body, his wife and child back to Kolkata.
