News Desk, Kolkata :  In recent times, tensions have escalated between Iran and Pakistan, leading to conflicts in South Asia. Both nations have accused each other of launching attacks, with the common target being terrorist organizations. The Balochistan region in Pakistan witnessed Iran’s missile strikes, prompting Pakistan to retaliate, escalating the situation along their shared border. The “Baluchistan Liberation Army” in Pakistan has declared war against Iran.

Iran alleges that its western border with Pakistan is consistently under threat, citing the presence of multiple terrorist groups in the area. Similar to Pakistan, Iran has faced attacks within its borders, with the main target being the “Jaish al-Adl” or the “Army of Justice” militant group. There have been previous incidents where this group targeted Iranian soil.

Despite the belief that the Balochistan region could be the epicenter of conflicts between Iran and Pakistan, recent events suggest otherwise. The tensions have breached Iran’s patience, evident in an attack on Pakistani soil last Tuesday, resulting in the tragic deaths of two children, according to Pakistan’s claims.

Iran clarified that the target of their attack was the militant organization “Jaish al-Adl.” This group has previously conducted multiple attacks on Iranian soil. The evidence presented indicates the involvement of this organization in the recent attack.

Many speculated that the conflict revolved around the Balochistan region, but the recent Iranian attack and Pakistan’s counterclaims hint at another city being involved. The long-standing discord between Iran and Pakistan has taken a new turn, with the city of Kerman in Iran experiencing a devastating explosion at the beginning of the current month.

On January 3, in commemoration of the popular Iranian General Qasem Soleimani’s death, Kerman witnessed a massive gathering at his tomb, culminating in a tragic explosion causing the death of over a hundred people. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack in Iran. Reports suggest that Jaish al-Adl had a hand in the attack or at least had prior knowledge.

Despite the evidence, Pakistan has not taken any significant action against the active militant group within its borders. This indifferent stance by Pakistan has irked Tehran, as it fails to acknowledge Iran’s claims and provides a shield to terrorist activities.

Kerman’s explosion raised significant questions about Iran’s national security. Tehran promptly warned that it would not tolerate any further attacks on its soil and vowed to respond to every act of aggression. The ongoing terrorist activities in the bordering areas have kept Islamabad on high alert, with tensions persisting for an extended period.

The international community closely watches the situation, especially considering Iran’s involvement in arming and supporting Hamas, an armed organization in the Israel-Palestine conflict. Iran’s influence extends beyond Hamas to Lebanon and the emerging crisis in Yemen.

Amidst these geopolitical complexities, Pakistan’s response to Iran’s attacks on its soil is under scrutiny. Tehran’s dissatisfaction with Pakistan’s handling of the situation has strained their relations further. Pakistan’s reluctance to take concrete action against the militant group raises concerns about its commitment to counterterrorism efforts.

As the situation unfolds, there are growing fears of more significant attacks from Iran towards Pakistan. The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, is in urgent discussions with high-ranking military officials and intelligence officers to address the escalating tensions.

In conclusion, the Iran-Pakistan conflict, initially perceived as centered around Balochistan, has evolved into a broader and more intricate geopolitical situation. The recent events in Kerman have underscored the fragility of the region, prompting international observers to closely monitor the developments between these two South Asian nations. The narratives of terrorism, retaliation, and strategic alliances continue to shape the contours of this complex and evolving story.
