News Desk, Kolkata : Do you remember Sukumar Ray’s notebook? Did everything get written in the notebook if you had a pencil in hand? Even the events of Sandeshkali seem to be etched in his memory. After spending nearly four hours investigating corruption, the leader of the Trinamool Congress, Sheikh Shahjahan, breaks into his house. They break open the house’s locks and, upon entering, find the detectives rummaging through Sheikh Shahjahan’s room—upturning his almirah, trunk, bed, and even the mattress and blanket. But what did they find?
The detectives reach the roof of Shahjahan’s house. They inspect even the water tank. Perhaps hoping to find some document! They scrutinize everything, but all the information is meticulously noted in his laptop. Yet, what did they find? Yes! They found something – a ‘pencil.’ Why, you ask? Because the hope with which the ED officials went there remained unfulfilled. Everything they acquired had to be written down and stored on the laptop.
In reality, after being attacked for the first time in Sandeshkali, ED returned to the scene after 19 days. The question that arose from the beginning was whether any information about corruption could be found in Shahjahan’s house after so long. The answer came. According to ED sources, even after four hours of searching, no specific document has been found. Some empty briefcases remain. And a single piece of clothing has been discovered, taken from Shahjahan’s almirah. However, there is nothing in the form of documents. The detectives believe that Sheikh Shahjahan managed to take away all the documents before fleeing.
Notably, today, a total of 13 officials entered Shahjahan’s house. Among them were 6 ED officials, 2 local witnesses, 3 ID witnesses, 1 locksmith, and 1 ED videographer. On this day’s investigation, before entering the house of this Trinamool leader, there was a confrontation between ED and the state police over search warrants. The police officials wanted to see the search warrant from ED. After some argument, the detectives showed the search warrant. Only then were they allowed to enter. As a result, according to ED, no document came into their hands, and Wakhawahal Mahal thinks that the detectives only managed to grab a pencil.
In the heart of Sandeshkali, the intrigue deepens as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) returns for a second attempt at uncovering potential corruption within the residence of Trinamool Congress leader Sheikh Shahjahan. The initial attack, vividly reminiscent of Sukumar Ray’s notebook, left the detectives with hopes shattered like pencil lead. Despite an extensive four-hour search, the ED officials found themselves empty-handed, discovering nothing more than empty briefcases and a lone piece of clothing plucked from Shahjahan’s wardrobe.
A dramatic scene unfolds as 13 officials, including ED representatives, local witnesses, and an expert locksmith, infiltrate Shahjahan’s fortress. Tensions escalate between ED and state police as they clash over the legitimacy of search warrants, providing a cinematic prelude to the unfolding drama.
The aftermath of this investigation raises questions about the effectiveness of ED’s relentless pursuit. Did they embark on a 19-day ‘wild goose chase’? The quest for evidence leaves the detectives with nothing but a humble pencil as a token of their efforts. The narrative takes a twist as the focus shifts to the meticulous nature of Shahjahan’s actions. Did he manage to outsmart the investigators, safeguarding all potentially incriminating documents before making his escape?
This captivating tale of power dynamics and elusive secrets reaches its climax in the heart of Sandeshkali. As the ED grapples with their ‘pencil’ discovery, the unfolding drama keeps the audience on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the ever-evolving saga of corruption, power, and the elusive truth.
