
NIN News Desk : (Dr. Subhrajyoti Chattopadhyay); Santragachi-Tirupati Superfast Express derailed at Howrah which disrupted services on South Eastern Railway. The Tirupati Express was going from Santragachi to Shalimar.
A parcel van was passing by the side line when 2 trains collided side by side while crossing. Both the trains were slow so major accidents were avoided. Santragachi-Tirupati Superfast Express near Padmapukur station in Howrah, South Eastern Railway. 2 coaches of Tirupati Express derailed in a side-by-side collision with an adjacent train.
A coach of a nearby train also derailed after that train services were disrupted on Santragachi-Shalimar line. The accident happened near Padmapukur station at around 9:30 am. The express train collided with the adjacent train where 5 and 6 coaches of Tirupati Express derailed. Since Both trains were at a slower speed, with no passengers, so it avoided major accidents.
