NIN365 Desk, Kolkata : In a strategic shift within the policing landscape of Murshidabad district, directives for the transfer of a total of eight police officials have been issued. On Monday, the state, along with Kolkata Police, orchestrated the transfer of 79 police officials across various positions. Among the notable changes, Abdul Kaiyum, an additional police superintendent in Murshidabad, has been transferred to the additional police superintendent position in the Ranaghat Police district.
The enforcement branch’s additional police superintendent in Krishnanagar Police district, Amitabh Konar, has been relocated to the rural police district in Howrah. Simultaneously, a new jurisdiction, Bharatpur, has been established in the Murshidabad Police district, and IPS officer Shubham Bajaj has been entrusted with the responsibilities of an additional police superintendent in Hooghly district.
This shuffle isn’t confined to a single change; seven IPS officers have received transfer orders. As part of these changes, Lalbagh’s additional police superintendent, Asim Khan, is now holding the same position in Raiganj’s additional police superintendent’s office. Farakka’s SDPO Raspreet Singh has been appointed to the Jungipur Police district.
Further shifts include the elevation of SDPO Sandip Ghorai in Beldanga, now serving as an additional police superintendent in the Kandi region. Additionally, SDPO Majid Iqbal Khan in Kandi has been elevated, taking up an additional police superintendent position in the headquarters in Murshidabad. Earlier, he had recently been transferred from Howrah Police Commissionerate.
In the realm of traffic management, after the transfer of Papiya Sultan, the additional police superintendent (Traffic) in Murshidabad, the position was temporarily vacant. Now, Soumyajit Barduwa has taken over this role. A similar progression has occurred for the SDPO position in Deganga, where Soumirjit Barduwa has stepped into the role.
This sequence of changes resonates with the routine shuffling of officials in the police administration, as often witnessed before the Lok Sabha elections. The rearrangement of these key positions aims to optimize the operational efficiency of the police force in Murshidabad and neighboring districts.
As the dust settles on these administrative maneuvers, it remains to be seen how these alterations will impact the policing dynamics in the region. The newly appointed officials, stepping into their respective roles, bring with them a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives that could potentially redefine law enforcement strategies in the evolving landscape of Murshidabad district.
