The weather office predicts the possibility of light rain in various districts of the state, including North 24 Parganas, Howrah, Kolkata, Hooghly, Purulia, Bankura, East Bardhaman, West Bardhaman, and Nadia, from Wednesday onwards. Mild to moderate rainfall may occur in South 24 Parganas, East Medinipur, West Medinipur, and Jhargram districts.
Moving south, even North Bengal has witnessed the prelude to rain. Light rain is anticipated in certain areas of Darjeeling district. Additionally, there is a chance of snowfall in some places. Weather authorities reported rain and snowfall in Darjeeling district until Monday. On Wednesday, certain areas of Kalimpong district may experience light rain as well. While other districts in North Bengal may remain dry, they are likely to be covered in dense fog.
The sky is expected to remain overcast from Wednesday morning in Kolkata. The minimum temperature in the city on Wednesday is around 14 degrees Celsius, slightly higher than Tuesday’s 12 degrees Celsius. However, the maximum temperature may reach 21 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, slightly lower than the previous day’s 22.1 degrees Celsius.
In Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, cold winds are sweeping, dispersing towards the south and bringing in moist sea vapor from the Bay of Bengal. This phenomenon contributes to the creation of favorable conditions for rain in the state.
