NIN Web Desk : A young woman had to pay the price with her life. Allegedly, the dentist mistakenly removed another tooth instead of the wisdom tooth. The young woman’s other tooth was also damaged while replanting that tooth. It was done without any anaesthesia. Later, the young woman’s face swelled up. Unable to bear the pain, she rushed to the hospital again but that doctor did not want to take responsibility. In the end, the young woman committed suicide in the hospital. This incident has come to light from Anhui Province, which is located in the east of China.
According to media sources, 34-year-old Miss Wu went to Anqing Municipal Hospital to have her wisdom teeth removed on March 12. But instead of extracting the wisdom tooth, the dentist at the hospital extracted another adjacent tooth. Realising the mistake, she tried to put the tooth back in its original place. The surgery lasted for an hour and a half without anesthesia, placing the tooth and fasten the adjacent teeth with wire. The girl’s family alleges that it has been the opposite, they said that the young woman’s face swelled abnormally. She was moaning in severe pain, even the two eyes could not connect even for a moment. After spending several days in that condition, the young woman again appeared at the hospital on March 17. But the doctor did not admit the mistake, she was not helped in any way by the hospital.
After that, the young woman recorded a video on her phone while standing in the hospital. In the video, she has been heard saying, “I have been cheated from beginning to end. I am in this condition today at the age of 34. Anquing Municipal Hospital has harmed me. I will end myself here today.” After that, the young woman committed suicide by jumping from the 11th floor of the hospital. Miss Wu’s brother said his sister’s medical records were also tampered with. His statement, “The sister did not understand then later she went to another hospital. After seeing the X-ray, she understood what the doctor had done.”
The young man said that although anesthesia was given at the root of the wisdom tooth, the dentist did not remove that tooth. Instead, picked up an adjacent tooth and reinsert it. No anesthesia was given in that tooth and has been lifted by force. A statement was made by the dental department of Anquing Municipal Hospital, it was reported that the dentist is not currently seeing any patients. The matter is being investigated by the hospital Officials.
The Health Commission and the police are investigating the matter also. Miss Wu’s husband said the police have launched an investigation team, the investigators are looking at the whole matter as a crime based on the initial information that has come to hand. The deceased has a child with autism, her family demanded strict punishment of the accused doctor.
