On the other hand, senior police officials from Haldia Rural District Police, including the Superintendent of Police, arrived at the crime scene to supervise the ongoing investigation. Superintendent Devshree Sanyal stated, “An incident of assault has occurred, and an investigation is underway. One person has been arrested.”
Relatives of the survivor emphasized that the assailants were not from the girl’s in-laws’ house and that she had been lured while returning from meeting her boyfriend. Even her mobile phone was snatched during the horrifying assault.

After restraining her boyfriend by tying him to a tree and beating him, the accused turned their attention to the young woman, subjecting her to further assault. Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with this incident.
